Mizrahi Luxury Comes to Ottawa With Landmark Architecture in Popular West-End Neighbourhood
For the last few years, Mizrahi Developments has been searching for the perfect location to introduce Ottawa to its award-winning brand of luxury real estate. And then we found it - at 1451 Wellington West - bordering on the popular Westboro neighbourhood. The corner of Island Park Drive and Wellington West is an important civic thoroughfare in the thriving west-end neighbourhood adjacent to Westboro. It is in the heart of a growing residential community of wonderful restaurants, artisanal food shops, boutiques and galleries. The capital city of Canada is routinely voted one of the best places to live in North America – and the world - with recreational opportunities that are thoughtfully integrated into the urban layout. Bicycle lanes wind through the city. When the Rideau Canal freezes over in the winter, some people skate to work. The outdoor stalls, filled with farm-fresh vegetables and fruits, cheeses and other produce, are a popular destination in ByWard Market during the summer months. Mizrahi Developments worked closely with municipal authorities to create a design for the 12-storey boutique midrise in collaboration with Page + Steel/IBI Group architects that would celebrate this iconic corner. A beautiful green space with park benches and public art graces the western corner, enhancing the streetscape and the pleasure of walking through the neighbourhood. Forever Views Across Iconic Canadian Landscapes Views from the custom-designed homes look north to the Gatineau hills, a stunning display of colour and form that is quintessentially Canadian. To the south is an established residential neighbourhood of mature trees and traditional homes. Balconies and terraces reach out like a lovely invitation to enjoy the outdoors. The homes at 1451 Wellington are built with the precision, attention to detail and craftsmanship that Mizrahi Developments has become known for in our drive to redefine the luxury marketplace. Amenities include a 24/7 concierge, who will after all requests, big and small; a parking valet; an entertainment suite with a large dining room and living room; overnight guest accommodation; a lap pool; and fitness spa. Mizrahi Developments believes in the home as a private sanctuary, a place you make your own with your signature design and layout. We create your home, according to your specifications, with standards that are beyond what's required by building codes. Walls are three times thicker than required. Windows are sound-proof and offer UV-protection. Doors are solid wood: so heavy, they require four hinges. We believe in an old-world craftsmanship that makes your home feel like a mansion in the sky; a cocoon that's a retreat from the fast pace of the modern world.

When A Building Is The Last of Its Kind,
It Deserves To Be Truly Memorable.
The inspiration for 128 Hazelton comes from European architecture, the kind that has the power to make you feel something you didn't expect. There is calm to be found in perfect proportions. There's a sense of security; a feeling of permanence. And there's pleasure in the beauty of exquisite details and carefully chosen materials. Mizrahi Developments has long been devoted to a practice of old-world craftsmanship. It is the foundation of our brand of luxury real estate. 128 Hazelton, a boutique mid-rise at the gateway to Yorkville's heritage neighbourhood, is our greatest expression of that passion. With less than 20 limited-edition residences, each custom-designed to suit the homeowner's wishes, the building is envisioned as an exclusive sanctuary of beauty and grace in the midst of Toronto's exciting mid-town. In collaboration with Gianpiero Pugliese, architect and principal of AUDAX, Mizrahi Developments conceived of 128 Hazelton as a modern interpretation of a classical 19th century building, like an updated version of the Haussmannian architecture that lines Parisian boulevards.
The modern world moves too fast for the care this kind of craftsmanship and precision demands. And that's why we wanted to take the time to create something truly memorable. This location - the last property on Hazelton for development - deserved a special jewel-like building. We felt it as a responsibility to the integrity and beauty of the local community to build something that would stand the test of time and be a statement of classic beauty. It is a project of passion for the power that architecture and craftsmanship have to make us happy.
Steps away from Bloor Street,
Canada's leading luxury marketplace.
Yorkville is a beloved neighborhood of heritage architecture. With mature trees and wrought iron fences, guarding 19th townhomes, Hazelton Avenue is a pleasant walk back in time as it's the best preserved street in the village-like enclave. We wanted to create a building that looks and feels as though it has always been there, respecting the streetscape with a classic architectural rhythm of glass and stone and a curved façade facing Davenport. The building echoes the roof lines of existing structures, creating a pleasant human scale that engages pedestrians.
Around the corner lies Bloor Street, Canada's leading luxury marketplace with flagship stores for global brands. Yorkville has many popular restaurants and cozy hotel bars that are steps away from 128 Hazelton. Green spaces in nearby Ramsden Park, Yorkville Park and the delightful pathways through the campus of the University of Toronto campus take you away to another state of mind, amidst park benches, sunshine and majestic trees.
When Something is This Carefully Crafted, Only A Few Are Fortunate To Own One.
Passion is about knowing how perfect something can be.
When you're in the heart of midtown Toronto, steps away from flagship stores for high-end global brands, popular restaurants and cultural venues, the next best thing to being part of its street energy is being able to rise above it with the press of a button. You can leave it all behind and live in the serenity of the clouds in your own custom-designed sanctuary. Mizrahi Developments is a boutique firm, renowned for its passion for craftsmanship and details, those you can see and those you can't, which create a soundproof retreat from the world, one that offers a sense of well-being and beauty. The views from here, stretching out to Lake Ontario, are unprecedented. THE ONE will be designed by Foster + Partners, one of the most innovative architectural firms in the world today, making it a memorable part of Toronto, a city that knows how to live.
This is Canada's leading luxury marketplace, located in the busiest pedestrian and subway intersection in Toronto. With a combined total of 401, 250 subway riders per day, a 24-hour pedestrian volume of 51, 392 and a 24-hour vehicle volume of 31, 600, Yonge and Bloor is a shopping destination for people from across the city. Not only that, close to 30,000 people in high-income households live in an 800-meter radius. The site gives Mizrahi Developments maximum flexibility for the creation of a truly iconic structure with mixed-use components that will meet the demand for retail in this important neighbourhood where the vacancy rate is the lowest in the city. With underground access to Toronto's main east-west and north-south subway lines, THE ONE will have multiple storeys of light-filled retail and commercial spaces - 'jewel boxes' with walls of glass that are uninterrupted by supporting columns.
Every city in the world has a signature. There are cultural events and neighbourhoods and yes, even buildings, that help make that signature unique. In Toronto, the midtown neighbourhood of Yorkville, a leafy enclave among heritage buildings of Victorian charm, is within easy walking distance from designer boutiques, cultural destinations and top restaurants, bars and five star hotels. This is where Mizrahi Developments chose to build 133 Hazelton, its landmark luxury building of 35 custom-designed residences and 3 town-homes. Just as there are buildings that express the signature of New York or of Paris, Mizrahi Developments saw an opportunity to bring old-world craftsmanship and timeless, classic design to a development in Toronto that will enhance the streetscape and help define the pleasure and aesthetic of urban life. Built of smooth, pale limestone with a tiered facade, 133 Hazelton is and will remain a Toronto classic.
An elegant sweep of classic architecture, designed to create a handsome and evolving streetscape in upper Yorkville, 181 Davenport is topped with glass-enclosed "sky" penthouses overlooking their pleasant vistas of mid-town Toronto.
Located in one of the most sought-after, up-town neighbourhoods in Toronto, close to shopping, good schools and peaceful parks, the Lytton Park townhomes are a perfect example of Mizrahi Developments' approach to building: classic architecture in a convenient location that allows for optimal urban living.
For over 20 years, Mizrahi Design Build has worked closely with individual customers to custom-design and build private luxury homes in some of Toronto's most prestigious neighbourhoods. The aim is always to build houses that look as though they have been part of the neighbourhood for a long time. The architecture is classic and traditional, mirroring the stone and brick work of existing luxury homes and continuing the elegance of a time when craftsmanship was everything. Throughout the process of designing and building, Mizrahi Developments works closely with the owner to ensure every detail is addressed so the home is a true reflection of identity; a fingerprint of style.
A city is its avenues, where buildings enhance community, respectful of
how people want to live and the way commerce thrives.
