Feel at home above the clouds: A sneak peek at life inside The One

A supertall skyscraper is, quite literally, on the horizon for Toronto. Eager residents patiently await a glimpse of The One’s impressive interior as this monumental structure continues to climb, and for good reason: this building will be unlike any other the city has ever seen.

For city dwellers, The One will be a dramatic new addition to the city’s already iconic skyline. For residents, the building will offer a new standard for elevated downtown living.

Curious to find out what’s inside? The team behind The One shares sneak-peek details.

On Top Of The Tallest Tower

The One’s residents will occupy the top 23 floors of Canada’s tallest skyscraper. A main perk? Panoramic views of Toronto from above the clouds.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the internationally renowned architectural firm responsible for Apple’s corporate headquarters in California, the Gherkin skyscraper in London and many other iconic buildings, The One will be a new focal point in the city, rising an unprecedented 91 storeys.

With a unique lattice-like exterior and hybrid exoskeleton of shimmering bronze trusses, its design minimizes structural intrusions on all floor-to-ceiling windows inside, which will offer a unique vantage point that cannot be found anywhere else in Toronto.

Let The Sun Shine In

Adhering to Foster + Partners’ biophilic principles, which emphasize connections with nature, the structural layout will also maximize sunlight in the suites. The drastic reduction in the number of interior columns and pillars required inside, a benefit of its innovative exterior design, further opens the spaces to natural light.

Perfected Personalization

With structural obstructions at an absolute minimum, homes are fully customizable. Each suite can be configured seamlessly, from complete open-concept layouts to traditional partitioned floor plans.

Residents have freedom and flexibility to choose the number of rooms in their multi-level homes. And kitchens and bathrooms can be placed anywhere in living spaces that range from 1,900 to over 6,000 square feet in size.

The penthouses, situated on the top six levels, provide residents with a 4,351-square-foot sandbox to create a luxurious layout of their choosing. These can be completely customized to meet their unique preferences, whether they’d like a personal gym, a king-size waterbed, a walk-in closet, a built-in wall unit or the opportunity to arrange rooms as best suits them—the sky’s the limit.

Restorative Sanctuary

With a contemporary European design that positions the kitchen as the heart of the home, suites will include custom cabinetry and countertops as well as state-of-the-art Miele appliances.

Quality finishes will also be found in the stylish, modern bathrooms. Marble flooring and Kohler fixtures add a touch of luxury, while glass walls open the spaces up to views of the city and Lake Ontario.

Unprecedented Living

On the 82nd floor, the four-level Grand Penthouse will be the pièce de résistance of The One: wide glass walls and 11-foot ceilings make the most of its perch atop the tower.

On its highest level, the Grand Penthouse will also offer a 1,025-square-foot terrace that can be designed in countless ways to include gardens, dining areas and even pools. It promises to be one of the most coveted slices of Toronto real estate for decades to come.

Making Life Easier

Residents can also take comfort in knowing that everything they need is available on the ground floor. From luxury retailers and specialty shops to chic restaurants and valet parking, The One has its residents covered, so they can go ahead and take that quick dip in the infinity pool or grab a cocktail in the lounge to unwind.
